Hawaii Asphalt Tank Repair
Phillips Tank repaired an asphalt tank in Hawaii. Asphalt storage tanks are subject to severe corrosion, which makes tank bottom and roof repair common in this industry.
Before tank repairs could begin, Phillips Tank removed a door sheet and removed the internal heating coils.
PTS installed a new cathodic protection system, a concrete spacer, a new welded steel tank bottom, and reinstelled shell nozzles to match the raised floor elevation. The heating coils were reinstalled with new couplings.
Due to extensive roof plate corrosion, PTS removed the rooftop access platform and a group of roof nozzles. After the roof plates, nozzles, tie-off, and roof platform were assembled on the ground, a crane lifted it onto the roof to be bolted and sealed in place.
