Phillips Tank and Structure (PTS) can provide engineering and design services for pressure vessels. PTS
pressure vessel services include but are not limited to:
-
ASME Section VIII Division 1
-
ASME Section VIII Division 2
-
National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel (NBBI) Repair and Alteration
-
Rigging Calculations and Drawings
Our team of engineers and designers work carefully with clients to determine the best solution for each
ASME pressure vessel project.
Whether it is a new vessel or repair, PTS will assign a project engineer who will work closely with you to
offer practical, sometimes out-of-the-box solutions, to ensure your satisfaction. We pride ourselves on
our real-world, hands-on industry experience including the ASME boiler and pressure vessel code.
More About ASME Pressure Vessels
The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) is widely used for the design and construction of pressure vessels, and is recognized internationally as a benchmark for quality and safety. Also known as ASME storage vessels, ASME vessels, or ASME tanks, pressure vessels store and transport liquids or gases at exceptionally high or low pressures. They are often used in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation, where the safe containment of the product is critical.
ASME pressure vessel design and construction must adhere to strict standards. ASME Section VIII, Division 1 uses a design-by-rules system to guide the design of pressure vessels. This method is generally more conservative, and results in a larger vessel. ASME Section VIII, Division 2 uses a design-by-analysis approach, which requires more detailed calculations to determine the size and strength of the pressure vessel. This approach may require more resources, but it allows for vessels to be designed for higher pressures.
Mechanical engineers who design pressure vessels must be knowledgeable in ASME BPVC, have experience designing pressure vessels, be familiar with welding procedures, and be able to perform design calculations.
Our team of mechanical engineers is well-versed in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Whether you need a new vessel or a repair, we have the expertise to provide practical, cost-effective solutions. Contact us today to learn more.
